We have been in London for a week. Here is what I thought about London after a week of exploring the city.
London feels old and ancient. The city is filled with beautiful, historic buildings. The buildings are made of stone and have carvings on them. I love how old looking London is. London is giant and grand, just like Buckingham Palace. We visited Buckingham Palace on our first day sightseeing.
One thing that has surprised me about London is how many people use the tube instead of using cars. The tube is a train that runs underground or over-ground. The tube is a lot faster than a car. When it leaves the station it feels like your stomach suddenly disappears like a puff of smoke.
London is cold. When we go out I wear a top, jumper and jacket. It is very cloudy, the sky is grey and the trees are bare. It has even snowed. I went outside and made a snowball. The snow was really icy, not powdery. My hands got very numb.
We visited a busy food market with lots of energy. The market had food from around the world. The food was delicious. I especially loved the coconut chicken curry. We went to a churros stand and I reckon they were better than the ones in Mexico.
The first place I went to in London was Hamleys. The moment I walked inside I was amazed! It was giant (at least 5 stories tall) and it had everything. It felt like Fred and George’s shop Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes from Harry Potter. Hamleys had things like drones, magic snow, magic kits, lots of Lego and even a gaming section. The best thing was the demonstrations. The staff show you how the toys work and even let you play with them. I saw heaps of magic tricks. It got me inspired to learn magic so we bought a set and I’ve been practicing all the time.
